WHO: National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education, a program within University of Oklahoma Outreach, Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies.
WHAT: The largest and most comprehensive national forum on issues of race and ethnicity in higher education.
WHEN: May 29 – June 2, 2007.

Each year, this conference attracts more than 2,000 participants including university administrators and students; directors and staff of offices of affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and minority affairs; representatives of state and national institutes and associations; and leaders of community-based agencies and organizations.
Keynote addresses will be given by author/poet Sherman Alexie; Vijay Prashad, director of the International Studies program at Trinity College; Lani Guinier, legal professor and civil rights expert from Harvard University Law School; and Maria Herrera-Sobek, associate vice chancellor at the University of California – Santa Barbara. Other presenters include actor Danny Glover; Christine Chavez, granddaughter of Cesar Chavez; Robert Birgeneau, chancellor of the University of California – Berkeley; and Kip Fulbeck, nationally renowned artist and director, scholar, and professor of arts at the University of California – Santa Barbara.
