University of Oklahoma Outreach, in partnership with the Oklahoma Securities Commission, will offer one-day workshops to secondary school teachers to help implement the Student Tracking and Researching the Stock Market (STARS) program.

At the workshop teachers receive detailed project guidelines and time frames, hands-on Internet portfolio training and practice, financial calculator instruction and practice, and every form necessary to implement this free financial education project. In addition, teachers receive access to optional investment education curriculum.

Teachers who participate in this free training receive a $100 stipend, .6 CEU Certificate, and professional development points with district approval. Receive an additional $100 stipend at semester’s end for participating in this program.

At the end of the project students write a report. Six regional winners and one statewide winner will be selected and invited, along with parents, teacher and administrator to be honored during a luncheon at the University of Oklahoma.
